About Us

Trooper Nolan Sanders died March 27, 2020, while on duty with the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Nolan served the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for five years and served his community on the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

After Nolan’s death, his widow Alexis realized there were many “firsts” associated with a line of duty death. Alexis founded the Trooper Nolan Sanders Foundation to offer guidance and answer questions regarding appropriate steps to work through the benefit process and offer prayer and support during the family’s grief.

The Trooper Nolan Sanders Foundation was founded in February 2021 and hosted the first annual golf tournament later the same year. The foundation helps the families of fallen law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Our mission is to supplement income to provide immediate financial assistance to the family in an effort to relieve some financial burden during an extremely difficult time.
